Ruffles & Rust

Image
This is the second time I have attended the "Ruffles and Rust" junk fest in Monroe and once again--it did not disappoint. We were too busy searching for fun junk to buy so we didn't take too many photos. Honestly, I didn't have too much to spend this time around but I always just LOVE taking in all the fabulous displays. I really appreciate an artist who can put together an appealing mix of new and old items, color, and elements of nature in a fresh, colorful and whimical display. My sister bought this fun cake pan that she plans to fill with primroses for spring. Good find! I also love the fact that the crazy fur thing made it into the foreground of this picture. None of us would touch it, of course. Fur is definitely in the category of things that shouldn't be at a vintage sale. Also on the list? Birdcages and bedpans--to name just a couple. See you at the next "Ruffles & Rust" sale in October!

More Cards!

I'm still having a blast cranking out the cards this weekend. There's really nothing better than putting on old episodes of "Project Runway" and digging into my stash of papers and embellishments. Sometimes the creativity doesn't "flow" like it should, but no worries...I just...keep...going. The added bonus of making a greeting card is that I can just throw it away and no one will ever know! It's not like I'm painting the Sistene Chapel, for goodness sake. These aren't my best designs, but I still had fun making them--AND I used up some cute scraps, too! Thanks "sew much" for taking time to see my work!

Holiday Weekend = More Time to Create

Image
I'm spending the long weekend with my sister and best friend, and we're having a wonderfully creative time. I'm building up my card stash so I can keep up on all of my upcoming spring correspondence. Spoiler alert! If you have a late-winter or spring birthday, don't take a sneak peek! The rest of you...enjoy!
