NYC Day Six

Today we visited the most delightful, delicious, glorious place in all of NYC...ABC Home. Put it on your must-see list because it is absolutely magical. We also enjoyed a lovely brunch in their vegetarian restaurant, ABCv.

After all that beauty we crossed the street to the amazing Fishs Eddy. At the door, Ashley saw the tile work, stopped in her tracks, and said, "You might as well just take the picture now." So I did.

We can cover so much territory in a day, and we love the sights and sounds along the way--especially the classics: New York taxis, storefronts, and cool buildings.
Along the way we also enjoyed a variety of subway mosaics. Here's one of the 120 mosaic hats in the 23rd Street station. Read the story about the hat tilework here.
We always have to visit Marimekko, 200 Fifth Ave, near the Flatiron Building, to see what's new.
It's always fun to explore the deliciousness of the Eataly NYC Flatiron, so we stopped in for an afternoon snack. And there's nobody I'd rather eat strawberry focaccia bread with than this little peach.
After Eataly it was time to head over to McGee's Pub to meet our On Location tour When Harry Met Seinfeld. Fun fact: McGee's Pub is the inspiration behind MacLaren's bar in How I Met Your Mother. We were a little early so wandered around and found a street fair right in front of the Ed Sullivan Theater--former home of The Ed Sullivan Show, The Merv Griffin Show, Late Show with David Letterman, and current home to the Late Show with Steven Colbert. I also had to hit a Starbucks so I wouldn't fall asleep on the bus tour.

One of our tour stops was Cafe Lalo, the cafe where Meg Ryan waits for her date in You've Got Mail where I had the most delicious pecan pie ever.

We also made a quick stop to snap a photo outside of the Seinfeld diner.
After a full afternoon of checking out TV and film locations, we headed back to Brooklyn for dinner and Bargemusic--a string quartet concert on a barge. It was an exquisite experience.

The temperature hardly drops at night! It should not be 74 degrees outside at 10:00 p.m.

Good night, city.
