Anyone

"It's so easy anyone can do it!" Translation: I may possibly be the only person on earth who won't be able to do it. This week I had to create a website. I've never done it before. Lots of people have told me that "it's easy." Well, maybe for them! I'm no computer expert. I'm not a web designer. (My heartfelt thanks goes out to those who make it possible for people like me to even think about doing something like this.) But I jumped right in and I did it! I was even able to get the doggone thing up and running on the web all by myself. No kidding. It was a great sense of accomplishment.

With that done, it's time to start my blog. I set it up months and months ago and it has just been sitting here waiting. And waiting. I'm no expert in blogs, either. But I love my life and I love to take pictures and I love to write. Plus, I hear that it's so easy...anyone can do it.

Guess I'll jump right in and see what happens.

Time for a summer adventure! We said farewell to Burlington, Vermont's maple syrup and cheddar cheese and hello to the Big Apple. Peace out, Ben & Jerry! We hopped on the subway to Brooklyn, dropped our luggage in Park Slope, and explored DUMBO--the area Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. We sat and watched this beautiful carousel by the water for quite a while. Pretty and relaxing. We love places to eat that offer a lot of options--especially since one of us is vegetarian and the other is not--so Time Out Market New York was perfect. We sat at the counter and ate at Mr. Taka. Lots of delicious choices that made both of us happy. I like riding the subway, and bridges and elevated tracks make it even more interesting. I also really love being able to see out of the windows on the train as we travel in and out of Brooklyn.

NYC Day Three

One of our favorite ways to see the city is from the top of a Hop-On Hop-Off bus. We started day three with coffee from Jake's in The Knickerbocker, hopped on the Downtown route , and snapped a few iconic pictures from the upper deck seats. We always see more from the bus route than we ever could on foot. After our bus tour we enjoyed lunch at P.S. Kitchen , a midtown vegan restaurant that donates all profit to charity. Wonderful food and an amazing mission--and great location if you're headed to a show. Highly recommend. We had tickets to see Waitress in the afternoon at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Bonus experience: we stumbled upon locations where they were filming Season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel . We were standing in line in the rain and watched extras in costume dodging raindrops as they moved between the Copacabana to the Barrymore Theatre. NYC Day Two

On the morning of day two, we had breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien, 60 W 65th St, near ABC Studios NYC and joined the studio audience of Live with Kelly and Ryan which--first off--wasn't "live" and second, wasn't "with Kelly." Vanessa Hudgens was filling in while Kelly was on vacation, and they were taping the show on Tuesday to air on Thursday. After leaving the TV studio, we headed over to Lincoln Center to see the iconic fountain. When we visit Lincoln Center, we always lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, P.J. Clarke's. Because this is ballet territory, we searched for George Balanchine Way...and found it. Took nearly a million photos to get this one lined up right.
