I Love December

In just four short hours, the countdown in on. Check out the magnetic "December" calendar I made last week. This was a project that I was supposed to do LAST YEAR but, well, you know how fast December goes. Enjoy. Every day. Every minute. I mean it. It goes so fast! Merry!

More Cards, More Joy

I had a little more time to work in my studio this weekend--in between trips to the ballet studio! Hope you enjoy them. I made the "make-believe fun" card when I was watching "Finding Neverland." It took me a long time because I kept watching Johnny Depp wishing I was in Neverland with HIM. In the film, when the children are putting on their play (before the mom has a debilitating coughing fit) Johnny (playing J.M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan) is sitting there and he looks so comfortable and handsome and fresh. Much like this card. Yum. Who doesn't bake cakes in high heels?! I always love to mock people who are terrified of birds. This means you, Steve Knight. Ok-ay. So this isn't a card. But this is a creation of mine. I took a break and came out of my studio to see her doing the splits on the wall. She doesn't flinch. I, on the other hand, had to sit down. I'm thinking I should do my hair like this. Thank Goodness for Parent-Teacher Conferences

I am so happy. I had Monday and Tuesday off this week due to Parent-Teacher Conferences. I spent a little time in my studio which makes me happy, happy, happy! Here are a few cards I cranked out. The feeling I get when I work is my studio is kind of like what the little girl on this card might feel--relaxed, time standing still, no worries, just marveling at the little things. Taking time. (There's so little of it in my life these days!) My friend Kamuela is launching a new business in Olympia called "re-Fabulous." It's a sewing lounge--a crafter's happy place--specializing in re-purposing, handcrafting, sewing...all for the love of creativity. Everything I see with a sewing theme reminds me of her these days! I made the orange and white posy from some super cute polka-dot gingham. It's not so great, but passes for cute in this context. Wool felt, bling, stitching, and one of my new favorites...decorative tape! A simple, but nice card. Could be a good...
