NYC Day Seven
Sunday was the last full day for sightseeing, and our first destination was a disappointment. We went quite a ways out of our way to visit John Derian Company in the East Village--only to find they were are closed on Sundays in August. We saw some cool things along the way but weren't familiar enough with the Lower East Side to be too spontaneous so we put John Derian back on the list for next time and moved along. We headed back down to the southern tip of Manhattan island to check out The Battery . It was another beautiful summery day so we bought ice cream from a truck, checked out what was growing in the Urban Gardens, and enjoyed seeing the sweet aquarium-themed Seaglass Carousel. We also met up with our dear friend Arielle for lunch at the Pier A Oyster House and ate on the dock with the Statue of Liberty in view.
