Summer is made sweeter with handmade cards. Here are a few I wanted to share with you before August is over and done with. I had a great time making these--the weather was warm and the patio door was thrown wide open to let in plenty of fresh air and inspiration! And, once I was in the groove, these cards were easier to "crank out" than a batch of homemade ice cream! Hope you've had a lovely August. Enjoy! I date-stamped this one and gave it to a colleague with an August birthday. Papercrafting is sort of my "life ring," and I do love red. A tiny little "summer" rub-on adds some life to the polka dot chipboard embellishment. This is probably my favorite card of the whole bunch. (Anything pink is a good thing.) The aqua polka dot edging is ripped self-adhesive fabric.  I date-stamped this one and turned it into a thank you note for a sweet friend. This one is still sitting on my desk but it needs to get in the mail to my cousins who host...

I printed off a few of my favorite candid high school photos this week. I thought it would be fun (in all of my spare time) to start an album to keep at the high school for guests to see our colorful daily HS life! Here are a few pages I completed last weekend that I thought you'd enjoy. I was showing my husband these finished layouts; he pointed to this first one and said I should have titled it "higher education." Ha! See why I love him? He's as cheesy as me! (Now if I could only turn him into my scrapbook "assistant.") I don't usually do single photo layouts but this paper was too cute to completely cover up. It's such a psychological thing--and it's why I've had this paper for a long, long time and just couldn't bear to actually use it. I'm just a sucker for school-themed scrapbook supplies! I have had this chalkboard paper forEVER and am soooo happy to put it to use! Ah, I can't wait for the weather to get nice again so...

It's just so satisfying to spend weekend time creating cards! During a recent crafting session I made some all-occasion cards--some with sparkle, some with farm girl style, and some that have even sprouted feathers. I'll begin with one of my favorites...this "shine" card with gold sequins just makes me smile! When it's time to send it, I'll date stamp it on the "Remember" tab. Which super star in my life will I send it to? Show your l-o-v-e with chipboard Scrabble tiles! I love this sunny card with the downy feather, and I adore the "photo strip" embellishment. This black-and-white card is ready for its close-up, Mr. DeMille. This was really fun to create. I love using Glitz Design embellishments--especially the sparkly glass oversized bling! Who doesn't love a good rub-on? This camera is from a Hambly set. I love the quality of these rub-ons but sadly, I don't think they make this product anymore. Another pretty ...

Just sharing a few of my birthday greetings with you today! With so many birthdays coming up, I felt I needed to stock up on my birthday card stash before I got in a bind. I had fun using a set of Martha Stewart birthday-themed chipboard and other colorful supplies I already had in my stash. Enjoy these fun and simple designs... I stained my wood chip sentiment with Heidi Swapp Color Shine. What a versatile and vibrant product! I love it. Happy birthday to all you January babies out there! Make a wish...

I had so much fun wrapping presents this year. First, you need to start with fun gift wrap--but the ribbon is really important. Most important are the tags. This one also holds a gift card. This one sports a free-hand felt heart. I just stapled the little sentiment to the wool. Although it's hard to see, this one also has a little felt strip sewn behind it for some cozy texture. My sister loves globes, so I was thrilled to find this cute ornament at "The Land of Nod." I date-stamped Santa's beard so he will remember when to make his appearance. There was no confusion who this one was intended for. I love using my Slice to cut oversized letters! This year, I packaged my calendars in these cute polka-dot bags and stitched them shut.
